RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The City of Reno wants to get feedback regarding accessory dwelling units and short-term rentals (also known as ADUs and STRs).  It is asking citizens to complete a nine-question survey.   The survey hopes to identify key areas that residents feel should be addressed if an ordinance is adopted and how likely a resident is to build one of these units on their property.

The City of Reno says housing affordability continues to be a priority for the City Council as it looks to explore options for residents. Information from the survey will be used by the Reno City Council in anticipation of a text amendment, which is anticipated for this summer.

“People who work in the Biggest Little City should be able to buy a home here and build their lives here,” says Mayor Hillary Schieve. “Feedback from our residents is an important part of the process to make that a reality.

You can find a link to the survey here.

The survey closes February 29, 2024.
