In response to a recent surge in criminal activity, Prince Adebayo Kayode, popularly known as Prince Adebayo of Iresa, has provided financial aid to security agencies in his hometown of Iresa-Adu through his foundation, the Iresa Royal Foundation.

The move comes after a rise in robberies and security concerns in the community. Local sources reported a spate of overnight business raids and shoplifting incidents. The situation escalated during a community security meeting on July 8th when a resident’s home was reportedly burgled while discussions were underway. This incident further heightened anxieties within Iresa-Adu, which was already grappling with the recent loss of its esteemed community leader, the Iyalode.

Prince Adebayo, a strong advocate for Iresa-Adu’s development, is committed to aligning with Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for the state. Following Governor Makinde’s call for stakeholders to contribute to community projects, Prince Adebayo has consistently demonstrated his dedication to Iresa-Adu’s well-being.

His support extends beyond the current security concerns. In July 2023, he made a significant donation to the newly established Civil Defence Area Command in Iresa-Adu. This contribution builds upon his prior support for the Divisional Police within Surulere Local Government.

Most recently, in January 2024, the Iresa Royal Foundation launched the “Student Relief Loan” program, offering higher education students from Iresa-Adu access to flexible financing options. The program launch was well-attended, including the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke.

Founded in April 2020 at the height of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Iresa Royal Foundation remains a steadfast pillar of support for Iresa-Adu’s development.

The Iresa-Adu community, a strong supporter of Governor Seyi Makinde in the 2023 election, expressed appreciation for his efforts to aid the underprivileged. A community spokesperson commended the Governor’s vision but requested increased focus on Iresa-Adu within his development plans. “We believe in Governor Makinde’s vision for Oyo State and hope for more focus on our community,” the spokesperson added.
