Uncertain future in the first team
Athletic Club has decided that Malcom Adu Ares, a young winger with a contract until 2027, needs more playing time, preferably in the Second Division, to continue his development. The confirmed arrival of Álvaro Djaló has closed the doors to Adu Ares’ continuity in the first team, forcing the sports management to recalibrate its plans for the player.
The sports management is already looking for a team to transfer to Adu Ares in LaLiga Hypermotion. One of the first clubs to receive the offer was Burgos CF. However, the Burgos team is exploring other options in the market, such as Jon Morcillo, who could become a property after terminating his contract with Athletic.
Another alternative for Burgos CF is Jon Guruzeta, who this season has played for Sestao River and has a good market in the Second Division.
Repeat successful formulas
Athletic have a positive history of loan deals that have been fruitful for their young players. Recent examples include Beñat Prados and Dani Vivian, who after their time at Mirandés managed to establish themselves in the first team. With Malcom Adu Ares, the Bilbao club hopes to repeat this successful model.
The club has full confidence in the talented winger’s abilities, as demonstrated by the long-term contract they signed with him last December and the opportunities that coach Ernesto Valverde has given him. Although the opportunities in the first team have been limited, the sports management continues to see Adu Ares as an important future bet for the club.
Malcom Adu Ares has proven his worth in the youth ranks, particularly with Bilbao Athletic in Lezama. However, to continue his progress and acquire the necessary experience, the club considers that a loan to a LaLiga Hypermotion team would be the most beneficial for its development.
The objective is that Adu Ares, like others before him, can return to Athletic with more experience and preparation to face the challenges of the first team. The loan formula has been successful for the club in the past, and they hope this strategy continues to pay off with promising players like Malcom Adu Ares.
